Programme editor

Eco-Business is looking for a passionate and motivated programme editor to join our growing team, which produces a wide range of content and thought leadership events throughout the region.

This role requires solid writing and content curation experience, and impeccable English writing and speaking skills. You will work with a wide range of partners from public, private and multilateral organisations across the world.

You must have an excellent work ethic, a passion for sustainable development topics, work to tight deadlines, be a team player, and possess a keen interest in sustainable development and how it relates to the business world. Design and production skills will be considered favourably. 

 

The role

Reporting to the Managing Director and Director of Partnerships, you will be responsible for leading and assisting the wider team in writing, producing and managing our wide range of thought leadership events and platforms. 

Our ideal candidate has exceptional verbal and written communication skills, is meticulous and pays the highest attention to detail. You should enjoy networking, meeting and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, and have an excellent sense of what constitues great, impactful content. 

You will be given major responsibility for strategic events across the region. Excellent and sensitive communication and negotiation skills will be key to balancing our editorial as well as our partners’ objectives. 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a wide range of Eco-Business’s thought leadership programmes, including programme development, speaker and moderator recruitment and some supervision of programme assistants or interns where needed.
  • Work in collaboration with the partnerships team to engage strategic partners of the event.
  • Support the development of some select strategic proposals and pitches.
  • Support the Director of Partnerships, to execute events and business strategy.
  • Lead event development and programming, play a key supporting role for the wider team; contribute ideas and join brainstorms.
  • Build and maintain key relationships across the business (including commercial and editorial).
  • Generate insights from key metrics across our platforms to guide effective decision making and programme development.
  • Design and publish content across all of Eco-Business’s platforms and networks.
  • Respond to comments and queries from our partners and community in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and report on feedback, online reviews and metrics.
  • Coordinate with our partnerships and editorial teams to ensure brand consistency.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following:

  • At least three years’ experience in journalism at a reputable media outlet  
  • Knowledge and experience in event programme development for small to large-scale events and high-level speaker recruitment
  • Strong commercial acumen, experience in dealing with senior-level partners and speakers
  • Experience dealing with government officials across the region
  • Experience in the Asia Pacific region
  • Strategic thinking, excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, writing and design skills
  • Keen understanding and passion for sustainability/sustainable development issues
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the willingness to contribute to the success of a small but dynamic organisation.
  • A clear understanding of the Eco-Business brand and editorial principles.

Full-time, part-time and contract basis can be considered from all geographies in the Asian time zone.
